Vanessa had her first Shih-Tzu in 1980 and was immediately hooked on this most lovely breed.  Her first open show judging appointment was in 1987. Vanessa has a wide interest in many breeds both as a Judge and Exhibitor, with a particular interest in Brachycephalic and Bull Breeds. Vanessa has owned, shown and handled a variety of breeds :  Shih-Tzu, Boston Terrier,  Afghan, Greyhound, GSD, Retriever (Golden), Great Dane, Lhasa Apso, Rottweiler, Dobermann, Akita, Irish Wolfhound, Chihuahua, Miniature Pinscher, Rottweiler, Manchester Terrier; and has obtained Stud Book Numbers, CC’s, RCC’s Junior Warrant and had Champion Shih-Tzu. Vanessa has a wide interest in varying breeds of dogs, is passed to award Challenge Certificates in about 50 breeds in the UK Terrier, Toy & Utility Groups, plus The Toy & Utility Group at UK Championship Show level, is also a Policy Group Judge for Toy & Utility Groups.  She has judged all over the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, USA, Eastern Europe and Europe.   
Recently widowed, Vanessa’s late husband Peter Wegmann from Schffhausen Switzerland, residing in Rural Gloucestershire, Peter was a former NH Jockey and Racehorse Trainer.   Vanessa is the hectic and proud mother of 18 year old Henry who is now training to be a Jockey following in his late fathers footsteps. Dog Show Admin experience – in 1980’s was secretary of Hillfields Park Ringcraft Club for almost 10 years and took one of the training tables every week.  In early 2000’s was secretary of Cheltenham & DCS for almost 10 years.  Currently on Bournemouth & LKA Championship Show Committees.
