Judging at in the Winner shows is a particularly pleasant appointment, thank you for the invitation! I became a show judge in 2010, my own breed is the Bearded Collie that I have bred under prefix Lawnlake. The Finnish Kennel Club has awarded me the Vuolasvirta Award for my breeding work. I have also received the golden medal of the Finnish Bearded Collie Club. I currently have two Beardeds at home, one veteran-aged Havanese and one Miniature American Shepherd. I currently work as a judge trainer and examinator for Havanese and in several breeds of group 1. I am a member of the Finnish Kennel Club’s Show amd Judges Commission and the Treasurer of several breed associations and exhibitions. Over the years, the dogs have mainly been engaged in exhibitions, but we have also become familiar with agility fields, search and herding. I am qualified to judge all breeds in groups 1, 5, 9 and 10 and some breeds of groups 3, 6 and 8.
When judging, I try to keep in mind the original purpose of the breed and the characteristics needed for the dog to be able to easily complete the task. The breed-like overall picture is then finished with the right quality coat and coloring.
