Newfoundlands have been a part of my life since I was a teenager and I have been breeding Wave Seeker’s Newfies successfully since 2003. To date, I have bred almost 100 champions and my breeding work has been awarded the Vuolasvirta Prize of the Finnish Kennel Club. The original purpose of various breeds is important to me and with the Newfies I have practiced water rescue and pulling sledges. At the moment I have a lovely 14-year-old veteran bitch and her offspring’s three daughters at home. The mascot of this group is a Norfolk Terrier. I have also owned a Finnish Hound and a Welsh Springer Spaniel.
By profession I am an animal health professional. I worked for a long time at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, after which I most recently worked as a manager at a large day hospital. The health of pedigree dogs is naturally important to me. I appreciate a healthy structure and with it smooth breed typical movement, taking into consideration the overall picture. I became a show judge in 2023, before which I was a passionate show enthusiast for a long time. I am now a member of the board of the Finnish Show Judges Association for the second term. In addition to the dogs, I really enjoy gardening, organizing parties and decorating the home.
Winner-shows have their own “magic” and they bring back great memories with my own dogs or dogs bred by me, such as the breeders’ BIS-1 win two years in a row. It’s an honor to be able to judge puppies for the Winner Show, I’m looking forward to it!
