Maija’s own breed is the West Highland White Terrier, which she has been involved with since 1971. Under the kennel name Marenjan, she has bred a few litters. Maija qualified as a judge around the turn of the millennium and twenty years later she was appointed as an all-rounder judge. Terriers were naturally her first judging group, but she has also judged extensively breeds of her other “own” group, Group 5. In addition to Finland, Maija has judged in all the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as in, among others, Italy, Ireland, Poland, and Canada.
