My history as a breeder began with a Doberman puppy that I brought home, at a time when Dobermans were considered a dangerous breed and no family would dare live with one, especially if there were small children. The next step was reaching a family consensus to create my own Doberman, which happened very quickly, soon leading to the creation of the CASA BRANCA kennel. As a breeder, I conquered several awards both with Dobermann and Portuguese Water Dog. I was awarded the Best Breeder of Iberia Breeds Trophy, of Portuguese and Spanish Breed. In 1986, when I became a judge, I stopped showing dogs, myself, ever since. In 2011 I had my last litter of Mini Pinsher and I stopped breeding. I have judged on four continents; throughout Europe (except for three countries) in both their capitals and in their smaller towns, at major events or smaller performances.
I judged in the European Championship (Portugal); World Championship (Portugal and Finland); Winners Championship (Stockholm and Helsinki); Estonian Champion of Champions 2018; Irish Pup 2018; Champion of the Year, Dublin 2023; Champion of the Champions of the Year, Helsinki 2024. I was vice-president of the Portuguese Kennel Club in the previous term (2021-2023); I represented the Portuguese Kennel Club on FCI Commissions; I held positions on various Commissions, such as Working Comissions , Breeding Comission and Judges’ Commissions; I was President of several Breed Clubs in Portugal. Currently, I am President of the Golden Retriever Club.
