Catharina Hasselgren

Sweden

I’m born in the whelping box and have been around dogs and dog shows all my life. My mother started breeding West Highland- and Scottish Terriers 1964 under the prefix Tweed but the Westies became the main focus. My own first dog was a Scottie and I started to my own breeding with my own prefix 1987. But since 2002 I’m part of Kennel Tweed and have mostly Westies in my life.
In 2000 I started to work as a ring steward, really enjoyed that and I think it was then my interest in judging started, when I was in the middle of the ring. In 2007 I was accepted to start the judging education which is quite long in Sweden and today I judge the hole group of terriers. I still enjoy to steward at least once a year and are have almost always also been active in the breed club of Westies or the Terrier club. I have been fortunate to judge around Sweden both national and international shows, judged in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Great Britan, one of my most memorable judging appointments is The Midland Counties Scottie and Westie Club, 20 years anniversary Show in 2009. I’m really looking forward to this appointment.
