Svein Helgesen

Norway

I have always had dogs in my life. In 1972 I started to breed English Cocker Spaniels and later Lhasa Apsos under the kennel prefix ‘Tanac’. I have owned and bred around 50 champions, and I am recognised as having top winning kennels in Norway in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1986, one of my Lhasa Apsos was the top winning dog of all breeds in Norway. In 1985, my Cocker Spaniel was runner up top winning dog in Norway and was top winning Spaniel in Norway from 1981 to 1986. I then started judging at 1992 and achieved FCI All Rounder status in 2013. I work on many commitees, such as the Norwegian Kennel Club, Norwegian Spaniel Club and Norwegian Toy Club where I also was chairman 7 years and I was awarded an honorable membership. I have judged in most of countries in Europe, also in Russia,Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, China and Canada.
