My family used to have German Shepherds ever since- either as police or working dogs. Therefore, I grew up with a deep understanding of the importance of functionality of a breed. Further on Collies and Dachshound became part of my life. Finishing university and working abroad I got my first Flat Coated Retriever almost 30 years ago. It was the beginning of a lasting relationship and passion for this breed. I show and work my Flat Coats for I am a convinced supporter of the dual-purpose idea of a retriever. It is utmost fulfilling to bring an FCI show champion to work with you in the field, which I am doing now with my youngest girl Iveragh. I started to judge in 2012 and I am a specialist for Retrievers, Spaniels and British Pastoral Breeds. As I mentioned initially it is my intention to focus on the balance between show and functionality in order to preserve healthy and active dogs.
I worked for almost 20 years in the Austrian Kennel Club being responsible for Public Relations and the kennel club’s magazine. I am a freelance journalist in my profession as a historian now.
