Schedules for dog shows at Dog Fair Finland have been published

Schedules for dog shows held at Koiramessut – Dog Fair Finland 2nd–4th December have been published on the website of the event. Altogether 19,000 dogs have been entered to the five dog shows at Messukeskus, Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki.

Dog Fair Finland weekend starts on Friday with the Nordic Dog Show Helsinki Winner 2022, to which more than 5,000 dogs have been entered to. More than 6,300 dogs have been entered to Saturday’s Nordic Winner 2022 dog show and more than 800 dogs to Helsinki Winner Puppy Show. More than 6,000 dogs have been entered to Sunday’s international Voittaja Winner 2022 dog show and nearly 800 dogs to Voittaja Puppy Show 2022.

Shetland Sheepdog and Finnish Lapponian Dog with largest entry numbers

Breeds with the most entries at Friday’s Helsinki Winner 2022 dog show are Whippet (83), Finnish Lapponian Dog (80), Dalmatian (61), Shetland Sheepdog (60), and Staffordshire Bull Terrier (59).

Breeds with the most entries at Saturday’s Nordic Winner 2022 dog show are Finnish Lapponian Dog (89), Labrador Retriever (81), Shetland Sheepdog (79), Dalmatian (69), Staffordshire Bull Terrier (67), and Whippet (67).

Most popular breeds at Helsinki Winner Puppy Show on Saturday are Shetland Sheepdog (29), Australian Shepherd (20), Bernese Mountain Dog (16), Rhodesian Ridgeback (16), Whippet (15), Rough Collie (15), and Golden Retriever (15).

Breeds with the most entries at Sunday’s Voittaja Winner 2022 dog show are Finnish Lapponian Dog (92), Shetland Sheepdog (90), Whippet (84), Staffordshire Bull Terrier (76), and Dalmatian (73).

Most popular breeds at Voittaja Puppy Show on Sunday are Shetland Sheepdog (28), Australian Shepherd (16), Bernese Mountain Dog (16), Rough Collie (16), Dalmatian (13), and Rhodesian Ridgeback (13).

On Friday, Best in Show is chosen by Francesco Cochetti from Italy, on Saturday by Bo Skalin from Sweden, and on Sunday by Harto Stockmari. The final competitions start at the Arena at 16:00 on each day of the fair.

Best in Show at Saturday’s puppy show is chosen by Juha Putkonen and at Sunday’s puppy show by Pekka Teini. Final competitions of the puppy shows start at 15:00.

Lots of programme at the fair in addition to dog shows

The fair offers lots of interesting and lively programme for the whole family.  Those interested in getting a dog can learn more about different breeds at the Breed Plaza, where more than 40 breed clubs give out information about their breeds. At the Finnish Kennel Club’s HauLife stand, you can get tips on how to get a dog and how to care for it.

You can also learn more about many different activities with dogs and meet the Finnish Kennel Club’s Care and Reading Dogs. About 50 brands and sellers of dog supplies are at the fair, offering an excellent opportunity to do some Christmas shopping.

On Friday 2nd December, Go Hau! event for youth offers activities in hall 4. At the event, you can learn more about youth activities within the Finnish Kennel Club and participate in playful competitions with your dog at four different non-stop points. The smallest ones in the family can participate at a toy dog show held at the fair.
