Alice Varchi has been involved in a dogshow for the first time in 2006, with her family and her owned Bedlington Terrier. She immediately appreciated the atmosphere and decided that preparing and conditioning dogs would have been her future.
In 2007 she became Junior Handler of the Year and had the honour and great responsibility to represent Italy at the main international events. In 2008 she was awarded third place at the Pedigree International Junior Handling Final at Crufts judged by Mrs. Renee Sporre Willes, fourth place at World Dog Show in Stockholm judged Mr. Peter Green, and second place at European Dog Show in Budapest judged by Mrs. Dorotha Witkowska.
Reaching the age of 18 years old she became founder president of the un-official “Italian Junior Handlers Association” as a first attempt to create a national club. A couple of years later ENCI designed a Junior Handler Committee to support the showmanship among juniors and Alice is an active member of it since the beginning.
In 2013 she had the great responsibility to judge a Daily Selection of the World Dog Show, in 2014 she judged the Italian Junior Handling Final, in 2015 she coordinated the Junior Handling at the World Dog Show in Milan and in 2018 she judged the German Junior Handling Final.
Alice had the chance to help and learn from several handlers during her Junior Handling time and later, surely one of her most significant experiences had been the months spent in USA as assistant. She worked as a professional handler during her early twenties achieving several TOP dogs, Chanpionships, Groups and BIS Winners in over 20 countries, including World, European and Crufts Winners.
Under the name of “Plumeria’s” she is moving her first steps in the world of breeding, of course dedicating herself on her beloved breed: the Bedlington Terrier. In 2017 she finally established her Pet SPA and Boutique.
“Thank you to the Finnish KC, I am honoured to be the Junior Handling’s judge of this year Final. Good luck Juniors!”
