I’m Katja Korhonen and I currently work for Valio Oy, a large Finnish dairy company. I became a dog show judge in 2006 and was qualified for my first breed, my beloved Samoyed, in 2007. I’ve bred Samoyeds under the prefix Schatzave's. In my childhood home, we had Samoyeds, a Swedish Lapphund, a Kleinspitz, and a Whippet. Later, I've also had a Norrbottenspitz, a grey Norwegian Elkhound, and Flatcoated Retrievers. At the moment, we also have a Finnish Hound. I’m qualified to judge or currently studying to become qualified FCI groups 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10.

I live South of Oulu in northern Finland with my family. We live in the middle of the beautiful countryside, which offers a great environment for dogs and safety for the whole family. In my free time, I’m active in dog clubs, hunt in various forms, enjoy baking and doing crafts, and collect Moomin mugs. I’m happy that the dog world has come back to life and the activities are recovering. I've longed so much for those social contacts one has in the dog world. I’m looking very much forward to the Winner show weekend and my judging appointment, which I gladly accepted.
