Interested in dogs since my childhood, I got my first Labrador Retriever in 1968. The following year I started going to the shows and competitions. In 1971 went to England to help in the world famous Poolstead kennels and to learn about the English dog shows. I became involved in all the different aspects of the dog world and have been very active in the breed clubs and the Finnish Kennel Club, which still continues in the FKC Standard Committee. Since 1980, as one of the founders of the Labrador Club of Finland, I served as the Chairman for over ten years and in the Committee thirty years. Dogs also became my profession as veterinarian. After graduating from the university, I started breeding of Labradors under my prefix 'Wetten'. Was first authorized in 1979 to judge Labradors and Chesapeakes. Nowadays I judge over 150 breeds: all breeds in FCI groups 3,4,7,8 and 9, half of the FCI group 2, and some breeds from FCI 1 and FCI 5. During the years I have had the pleasure to judge many wonderful shows all over the world: in 26 European countries, including Great Britain and Russia, as well as in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
