Miniature Poodle Best in Show at Nordic Winner 2022

Black Miniature Poodle Equerry’s Hit Trick was Best in Show at today's Nordic Winner 2022 dog show held at Messukeskus, Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki. The dog is owned by Tuija Kärki. The winner was chosen by Bo Skalin from Sweden. Best in Show Veteran was English Springer Spaniel Adamant’s Over The Moon, judge Paavo Mattila. The Best Breeder's Group of the day was a group of Miniature Pinschers from Johanna Tammiala’s kennel Pinserella’s, chosen by judge Jean-Francois Vanaken, Belgium.

6353 dogs were entered to Nordic Winner 2022 dog show. 841 dogs were entered to today's Helsinki Winner Puppy Show 2022.

349 different breeds were represented at today's show. Most dogs were entered in the breeds Finnish Lapponian Dog (89), Labrador Retriever (81), Shetland Sheepdog (79), Dalmatian (69), Whippet (67), and Staffordshire Bull Terrier (67) 

Dogs from 15 different countries participated at the show. Most foreign participants came from Sweden (357), Estonia (163), and Norway (135). Participants with the longest trip to the show came from Spain.

Gold to Finland in the Nordic Championship in Junior Handling

The Nordic Championship competition in Junior Handling was also held at Dog Fair Finland. The skilful young people competed both individually and in teams. The team competition was won by Finland. Members of team Finland consists of Moona Wickström, Lumi Venäläinen, Linnea Pietarila and Jessica Yli-Sassi. Finland also won the individual Nordic Championship in Junior Handling, as Lumi Venäläinen took the first place. The competition was judged by Richard Hellman from USA.

American Staffordshire Terrier Best in Show at Helsinki Winner Puppy Show 2022

Helsinki Winner Puppy Show 2022 with more than 800 entered puppies was held today at Dog Fair Finland. Judge Juha Putkonen chose American Staffordshire Terrier Rocket League Shining Star as Best in Show. The dog is owned by Beatrice and Johan Wetterberg, Sweden.

Lauri Vuolasvirta award ceremonies for breeders awarded in 2020, 2021, and 2022 were held on Saturday. The Finnish Kennel Club awards the prize to merited breeders. More information about Vuolasvirta-awarded breeders can be found on the Finnish Kennel Club’s website in Finnish:
